Classic Decorated Easter Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 2-3 drops of food coloring
- For the icing:
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup of milk
- Sprinkles, decorations, or colored sugar
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9” springform pan and set aside.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating until each one is incorporated.
5. Add the buttermilk, vanilla extract, almond extract, and orange zest and mix until combined.
